Chika Homura walks into high school with one plan: reinvent herself as the cute, delicate girl everyone adores. She quits volleyball, even though she was the team's star, and picks up the flute because it seems like the most feminine instrument in the room. There is just one problem waiting in the Wind Instrument Club. Her childhood friend Haruta Kamijou is there too, and he has known her way too long to buy any of it. The two of them share more than old memories. They both love music, they rehearse together for hours in the club room, and they both fall for the same band instructor, Shinjirou Kusakabe. So much for a fresh start. The club itself is barely hanging on, and two members are not enough to keep it alive. Chika and Haruta need new recruits fast, or the whole thing gets shut down. Then the strange stuff starts. Odd things keep happening around school, and the club members end up chasing down one mystery after another between practice sessions. New members, weird cases, a teacher two people are fighting over. Can Chika keep up her act long enough to get what she wants, or will Haruta see right through her first?
