Hanamonogatari
High school feels empty now that Koyomi and Hitagi have graduated, and Suruga Kanbaru is still there, still carrying the Monkey's Paw. Then the rumors start. A "Devil" has shown up in town, someone who fixes any problem you bring them, no questions asked. Kanbaru hears this and her stomach drops, because what if the Devil everyone keeps whispering about is her? Turns out it isn't. The Devil is Rouka Numachi, a rival from junior high who used to battle her on the basketball court and now can't play at all thanks to a bad leg. Rouka doesn't solve anything. She just listens, hands out advice, and collects other people's misery like spare change, letting them walk away with hope that won't survive the week. Kanbaru tells her off for lying and goes home relieved, glad the rumors aren't about her. That relief lasts about five minutes. Her left hand is human again. No paw, no power, nothing. So what happens to a girl who's spent years leaning on a monster's arm when it just quietly disappears?
