The old The World is gone, and a new one, The World R:2, opens its gates. Haseo logs in for the first time, wide-eyed and ready to team up. He finds a group, thinks he has made friends. Then they cut his character down. Just for fun. A one-armed player named Ovan pulls him out of the dirt and offers to show him around. So begins a good year. Ovan, Ovan's cleric friend Shino, the three of them questing together, and for a while Haseo is happy. Then Shino dies. Not in the normal way. A figure everyone calls Tri-Edge kills her character, and that name carries weight: every player Tri-Edge has touched has dropped into a coma in the real world and never woken up. Haseo swears he will hunt Tri-Edge down and end him. This is the story of that first year, the friendships built before everything went wrong. But what happens when the person you are chasing might be someone you already know?
