Two years have passed since Mimiru first crossed paths with Tsukasa. Now she and Bear head into the Dungeon of Nankoflank, and somewhere down there Mimiru starts talking about someone named Mimika. Not loot. Not leveling. What kept her logging in, she admits to Bear, was never the treasure or the experience points. It was the memories, the feeling of those first days when everything in The World was new. Then Mimika shows up. A character Mimiru knew once, back when the two of them played side by side, if only for a short while. That brief stretch together is what made her understand why she keeps coming back to this game at all. The three of them push through quests and events, and Mimiru keeps circling the same question about what any of it was for. Why does a place that isn't real hold so much of who she used to be?
