Shi Jiajie and Xiao Lei pay rent by winning tournaments in games they were never invited to play. Hack the client, take the prize, move on. Then an access key for something called Epoch shows up in their hands, and the payout attached to it is big enough to make them forget every rule they have ever broken. Shi Jiajie goes in first. What waits on the other side is not a lobby or a leaderboard. Strangers start hunting him through the server like he owes them something, and every exit he finds leads deeper instead of out. That chase is only the opening move. Somewhere behind the game sits a scheme with Shi Jiajie's name already written into it, and the two of them are still arguing about prize money while it closes around them. Can you walk away from a rigged game when the game already knows where you sleep?
