Episode 4 · Girlish Number

Girlish Number

Chitose Karasuma has zero interest in a boring adult life, so she storms straight into a voice acting school and talks her way into an agency run by her own big brother. In her head, the neon signs are already spelling out her name. Then reality hands her a stack of background roles and nothing else. The other girls in the studio are not making it easier. There is a sweet-faced schemer who plays dumb right up until it counts, and a sharp-tongued girl from Kansai who calls things exactly as she sees them. Chitose, who has never once been the polite one, keeps bumping heads with everyone while auditions keep going to somebody else. The industry turns out to run on more than attitude and a pretty face. Chitose wanted to skip the boring part, and now she has to figure out whether she actually has the grit to stay, or whether the whole dream was just noise. So how long can she keep bluffing before someone finally calls it?
