Episode 2 · Fractale

Fractale

Clain spends his days digging through old tech nobody else remembers, and the only ones waiting for him at home are holograms of his parents. Actual people? He's never really met one. Then Phryne crashes into his life, the first real girl he's ever seen, and before he can even process that, she vanishes and leaves a strange pendant behind. He pokes at it, cracks its hidden data, and the thing turns into a living avatar girl named Nessa. Turns out Phryne is a runaway priestess, hunted by a group called the Lost Millennium, and the pendant was never supposed to end up in some relic collector's hands. Now Clain and Nessa are on the road, chasing a girl who clearly has more secrets than she let on, while the people chasing her are clearly not done with any of them. A thousand years ago the Fractale system gave humanity a perfect, effortless paradise, and nobody alive has the faintest idea how it actually works anymore. The priests treat it like a god. Clain is about to find out what it really is. But if the truth is out there, why has everyone spent a millennium carefully not asking?
