Natsuki lost his leg and his mother in the same accident, and now he lives on a half drowned island with nothing but debt. His grandmother's debt, to be exact. To pay it off, he dives down to a flooded building where she used to work, hoping to find something valuable. Instead he finds a capsule with a sleeping girl inside. She is a humanoid robot named Atri, and she wakes up smiling. She says she was left with one final order, but she cannot remember what it was. So she stays with him, cooking, cleaning, following him around while he tries to figure out what to do with her. He planned to sell her. That was the whole point of dragging her up from the bottom of the sea. But something about her makes him stop and think about his grandmother's research, and about the dream he gave up years ago. The island is almost empty now. The water keeps rising. And Atri keeps saying she will stay until she remembers. What happens when she finally does?
