The last day of school before summer break, and five boys are arguing about something stupid: when you look at fireworks from the side, are they round or flat? They settle it with a plan to meet at the lighthouse at five and watch from an angle. Norimichi couldn't care less. He has a different five o'clock on his mind. Nazuna, his classmate, is leaving town because her mother decided to remarry, and she asked him to come watch the show with her instead. So he shows up. Then things go sideways, and she pulls out this strange orb that seems to bend time back on itself, giving them another shot at the same evening. Again and again, Norimichi gets to choose: the lighthouse with the guys, or Nazuna. Every do-over changes what happens next, and not always for the better. He keeps reaching for the version where she stays. But if you could rewind one summer night as many times as you wanted, would you ever land on the one that's actually real?
