Shidou Itsuka has already sealed three Spirits, and by now he knows the drill. A girl shows up, reality cracks around her, cities shake, and instead of calling in the military, he takes her out for coffee and tries to make her blush. It sounds ridiculous. It works. Every date he survives is one less catastrophe waiting to happen, and Ratatoskr is right there behind him, tracking readings and arranging reservations. Then the rules change. Something bigger than any Spirit has started paying attention to what Shidou and his team are doing, and it is not impressed. Some of the girls he meets this time around do not want to be saved. They want to be left alone, or worse, they want to see what happens when nobody stops them. So now he has to figure out who is actually a threat and who is just scared, while the real danger circles closer, watching him stumble through homework, part time jobs, and awkward first dates. Can a guy who solves apocalyptic problems by holding hands really keep up when the enemy is not a lonely girl but something that has been planning this for a lot longer than he has?
