The war with the Festums didn't end. It just changed shape. When the North Pole Mir shattered, its fragments drifted across the globe and woke up as their own separate Mirs. Most of them looked at humanity and wanted it gone. A few didn't. And then there are the ones caught in between: people who are part human and part Festum, walking around with both sides of the war inside them. On Tatsumiya Island, everything has gone quiet. No legion is moving, no shots are being fired. Two years after the massive fight against Misao Kurusu, the island's government has decided to do something that would have sounded insane before: sit down at a table with the Mirs and actually talk. For the children of Alvis, that means something stranger than combat. They get to study the enemy from the inside, up close, where the lines between us and them start to blur. Cooperation sounds good on paper. But can you really make peace with something that used to eat your friends, especially when some of the people sitting across from you are wearing human faces?
