Every sixty years the heavens hold a contest to pick the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac. Great honor. One catch: the same twelve have been sitting in those seats for two thousand years, and nobody has ever managed to budge them. Nyaa-tan is a cat. She wants in. Cats are not on the zodiac, which should tell you how this usually goes, and her odds get worse when you factor in her memory, which is basically a sieve, and her brain, which is not her strong suit. To claim a seat she needs twelve seals, one from each reigning god, won through battles powered by Sol/Lull, the warm fuzzy energy people give off when they're happy. She generates almost none of it. Then she moves in, uninvited, to an apartment in Akihabara. The guy who just moved in next to her, Takeru Amato, turns out to leak the stuff in absurd quantities. A high schooler living alone, a cat who forgets her own plans, and a pantheon that has no intention of moving over. Fighting a god with a fraction of a god's power is a problem. Doing it while your only battery is a teenage boy is a bigger one. And what exactly did Takeru stumble into that he was never supposed to find?
