Three years of training, all of it aimed at one thing: finding her father. He was a thief, not some muscle-bound hero, and that is exactly why he got further into the dungeon than anyone else. Clay learned his trade, maybe even surpassed him at it. Then he walked into that place and never came back. One day she pushes deeper than any adventurer has gone before. Of course she gets caught. What she finds behind a wall is not a trap or a monster's lair: it is a furnished room. Talking monsters. A girl who introduces herself as the dungeon's administrator. This is supposed to stay hidden from explorers, and now Clay knows. So the boss does not kill her. He offers her a job. Just like that, the lone adventurer becomes part of the staff, keeping the dungeon running instead of trying to beat it. Career growth, a decent paycheck, free housing, coworkers who do not stab you in the back. Not bad for someone who only wanted answers. But if the dungeon has employees, rules and a payroll, then what really happened to her father down here?
