Makoto Misumi was supposed to be the hero. His parents signed some old contract with a goddess, so off he went to another world, ready for the usual chosen-one welcome. Instead the goddess took one look and said he was too ugly to even glance at. No hero title. No warm greeting. Just a language skill that lets him talk to every creature in this world except humans, plus a one-way ticket to the far edge of nowhere. Here is the twist: Earth and this new world run on different rules, and all the limits that held Makoto back on Earth were never really his. Out in the wasteland, his strength and magic wake up, and he turns out to be monstrously powerful. Ogres, lizardmen, dwarves, all sorts of mythical types wander into his life, decide they like him, and start building a village together where nobody has to fight to survive. That should be enough, right? It is not. Makoto still wants to meet other humans, and that is the one thing the goddess made impossible. So he and his ragtag companions have to figure out a way around her rules, maybe even change how this whole world treats people like them. Can a guy she threw away really force his way back into human society?
