Taiki can't walk past someone who needs help. That's just how he is. So when he hears a voice begging for help one afternoon while hanging out with Akari and Zenjirou, he runs toward it without thinking. In a back alley he finds a Digimon named Shoutmon, beaten half to death. Taiki grabs a strange device lying nearby, and the moment his fingers touch it, the world tilts. He, Akari, and Zenjirou land in a meadow somewhere else entirely: the Digital World. And the locals staring at them are not friendly. Turns out the Digital World is at war. The Bagra Army is hunting 108 fragments of the Code Crown, and whoever collects them all gets to rule everything. Shoutmon has his own dream, to become king of the Digimon and protect them. So Taiki does what he always does. He picks a side. Together they build an army called Xros Heart, and every new zone they cross means another fight, another fragment, another chance to be too late. But Taiki and his friends aren't the only humans who got pulled into this. Who else is out there, and what do they want with the Code Crown?
