A kid with messy hair and zero sense of time shows up late to the entrance exam for Duel Academy, the school where every strong duelist in the world wants a spot. Juudai Yuuki doesn't seem to care much about any of that. He's here to have fun, duel hard, and maybe become the next King of Games. Then a stranger hands him a card called Winged Kuriboh, and his whole life tilts sideways. He lands in the Red Osiris dorm, the run down one nobody brags about, and quickly picks up two people who matter: Sho Marufuji, a nervous first year, and Jun Manjoume from the fancy Blue Obelisk dorms, who decides on sight that Juudai is his rival. Between classes, dorm rivalries and duels that keep escalating, the Academy starts showing a darker side. Cards that shouldn't exist. Shadows that move on their own. Juudai shrugs it off, duels anyway, and keeps winning in ways nobody expects. But the darkness keeps finding him, and it isn't interested in letting go. How long can a guy who just wants a good match keep laughing when the game itself starts playing back?
