The world ended, but nobody got the memo. Cities are rubble, money is junk, and people still get up every morning and hustle. Gear spends his days in a junk shop, sorting through relics of a civilization that used to be. On the side, he tracks down stolen goods with Qu-0213, a robot juggling four personalities, and White Bear, a gambler who never folds. Not glamorous work. It pays. Then a job lands in his lap. Steal one item. The score of a lifetime, they say, simple and clean. It is not simple. It is not clean. Assassins come out of the woodwork, cars tear through the wasteland at speeds that shouldn't be possible, and things keep exploding. Gear and his crew are in way over their heads, and the worst part is they don't even know what they're carrying. Because the thing they swiped isn't just valuable. It holds something. A secret buried so deep that the whole broken world might crack open if it gets out. Gear wanted a payday. Now he's holding the trigger. What exactly did they steal, and who is coming to take it back?
