Momiji grew up hearing her grandmother's old stories about the Kushinada bloodline and the day she might have to give her life to save humanity. She never took any of it seriously. Then a monster made of vines and teeth came through the wall of her ordinary school life, and she would have died right there if a stranger named Kusanagi had not torn it apart with his bare hands. He is half human, half something else, and he does not explain himself. After that night, Momiji starts sensing the Aragami before anyone else can see them. She learns the truth her family kept hidden, and instead of waiting to be sacrificed, she joins the TAC, the one organization fighting these creatures by any means necessary. Kusanagi stays close, though whether he is her protector or something far more dangerous is never entirely clear. The monsters are bad enough. The people who want to use her blood might be worse. Can a girl who was raised to die really choose how she lives?
