A counseling office that takes in the strangest requests you can imagine. People come through its doors with problems no one else will touch, and at the desk sits a boy named Ichirou Umoregi. Everyone calls him Akuma-kun. He is the kind of genius who shows up maybe once in ten thousand years, and he handles the cases himself, with Mephisto III always somewhere nearby. Strange phone calls, stranger visitors, the two of them take it all on like it is just another Tuesday. Except there is one file he cannot open. His own. Akuma-kun has no idea who his real family is. No names, no faces, nothing but a blank spot where his past should be. So while he untangles other people's nightmares, he is quietly picking at the thread of his own origin, one small clue at a time, and Mephisto III is right there pulling at it with him. A detective duo, a pile of unsolved mysteries, and a boy who might not like what he finds. What exactly is waiting at the end of that thread, and who left him at the start of it?
