Akira Fudo is a shy kid who heads into the Himalayas with his father. Then an accident kills them both. His body does not stay empty for long. A demon soldier called Devilman slides inside and wears Akira's face like a mask, sent to Earth to stir up chaos and clear the way for a full demon invasion. That was the plan, anyway. Then Devilman runs into Miki Makimura, Akira's childhood friend, and something goes sideways. He falls for her. Hard. So the demon soldier who came to wreck the planet decides to fight his own kind instead and keep Miki and the rest of humanity safe. Zennon, the leader of the Demon Tribe, does not take the betrayal well at all. He sends Devilman's old comrades after him, and it does not take them long to figure out that Miki is the weak spot. Now Devilman is dodging demons who know exactly how to hurt him, all while hiding what he really is. Can love really hold its ground against something that old and that cruel?
