A corner of Tokyo has sunk into the mud, and the crime there doesn't wait for backup. So the city built the Eighth. That's what everyone calls the 8th Unit of the 3rd Mobile Assault Division, 5th Special Public Security Section. Eight people with badges, arguments and a license to wear Willwear: powered exoskeletons that turn a cop into something closer to a tank. Then the suits stop being just theirs. Criminals get their hands on the same hardware, and suddenly the gap between a bad day and a citywide mess is one stolen exoskeleton wide. The Eighth still has to file reports and take orders while they are getting shot at by the exact technology they trust. Some of them handle it better than others. Some of them barely handle each other. What happens when the armor that makes you strong ends up on the wrong side of the street?
