Rin Azuma is a Jiang-Shi yokai trying to blend in. She lives in Sakurashin, works at a ramen shop, and gets through her shifts one bowl at a time. Quiet life. Or so she tells herself. Then Zakuro Kurumaki walks back into it. A friend from before, now standing at the head of an invasion. She wants Rin at her side, and she wants the city flattened along with every yokai hunter backing her up. Enjin Hiizumi is somewhere behind all of this too. So Akina Hiizumi and the rest of the Life Counseling Office step in, not just to pull Rin out of Zakuro's reach but to tune the yokai pulling Zakuro's strings. Saving Rin and saving Sakurashin turn out to be the same job. Rin came here to start over. Now the past has a grip on her friend and a target on her city. Which one is she supposed to reach first?
