A girl named Koto follows a black rabbit and steps through into a Kyoto that is not Kyoto. Same streets, wrong light. This mirror city is packed with spirits and humans living on top of each other, and she has her brothers with her, though nobody is quite sure how they all fit together. A monk with too many secrets. A girl who will chase you down over gadgets. Koto dives into the noise and color like it is a festival built just for her, and honestly, it kind of is. Here is the thing she does not know. Long ago a witch called Lady Koto built this whole place, filled it with yokai of her own making, then got bored and walked away. Three elders have been waiting ever since. They are certain she will come back, and they are certain this girl, the one from the real world, is the key to making that happen. So while Koto laughs her way through the chaos, somewhere out of sight a plan is already moving, and the only way home is to find that black rabbit again. Easy, right? But why would anyone go to the trouble of luring her here in the first place?
