On Blue Island sits a giant machine that solved the world's energy problem five years ago, and nobody has had to worry about a blackout since. Next door on Izu Ooshima, Akane Isshiki keeps house while her grandfather tinkers with strange inventions and her little sister Momo mostly gets in the way. Ordinary days. Until the sky splits open. Creatures called the Alone come for the engine, and the military throws everything it has at them. It is not enough. Then Kenjirou, who helped build the thing they are trying to steal, hands his granddaughter a key. A bright red palette suit, power she has never felt before, and suddenly Akane is the one standing between the world and whatever wants to tear it apart. Aoi, Wakaba, and Himawari join her, each with their own reason to fight. Four girls against an enemy nobody understands, and the only weapon that works is a key their own grandfather kept hidden. So why did he wait until the monsters were already here to give it to her?
