A scruffy girl from Hokkaido steps off the train in Tokyo with one promise to keep: she will be the fastest in all of Japan. At Tracen Academy, horse girls with ears and tails train on real tracks, and Special Week is the rawest thing on the roster. Then she sees Silence Suzuka run. Smooth, effortless, almost cruel in how easy it looks. Something clicks, and just like that Special Week has a goal with a face on it. She gets pulled onto Suzuka's team, Spica, and the fairy tale should start here. It doesn't. The academy is packed with girls who have been chasing this since they could walk, and being naive and clumsy does not buy you a single length on the straight. Every race is a wall, and every wall has someone on top of it already. Special Week has talent. So does everyone else. What happens when the girl from the countryside finally lines up next to the runner she idolizes, and the gun goes off?
