In this world, food isn't just on a plate. It grows wild: burgers sprouting from soil, mountains made of ice cream, mac and cheese simmering inside volcanoes. Everyone wants a taste, and the ones who go out and drag it back are called Gourmet Hunters. Toriko is the loudest and hungriest of them all, a man who has already found two percent of every ingredient known to exist. Restaurants and rich guys keep hiring him for the rare stuff. He barely needs the money. Then a shy chef from a five star hotel tags along. Komatsu can cook, sure, but he jumps at his own shadow, and standing next to Toriko is like standing next to a landslide. Still, he wants to get better, and Toriko wants something bigger than a paycheck: a full course menu of his own, the best dish in the world, course by course. Trouble is, the tastiest ingredients don't come quietly. There are beasts that will eat him first, organizations that want the same prize, and food itself that fights back. Can a guy with a fork and a bottomless appetite really eat his way to the top, and will the timid chef beside him survive the trip?
