Tooru Kirishima has spent years solving problems with his fists. The underworld calls him the Demon of Sakuragi, and nobody says it fondly. Then one botched job nearly torches a truce between rival clans, and his boss hands down a punishment that sounds like a joke: babysit Yaeka, the boss's seven-year-old daughter. Except it isn't a joke. This man, who has never once had to explain himself to anyone, now has to figure out what a little girl eats, why she goes quiet for hours, and what to do when she cries. She barely talks. He barely knows how to. Two people who have never learned to say what they feel, stuck in the same room every single day. Somewhere between packing her lunches and walking her to school, the arrangement stops feeling like a punishment. But the clan is still out there. The same world that made Tooru into a weapon isn't going to disappear just because he's learned to braid hair. So what happens when the violence comes back for him?
