A plane goes down. Two brothers survive it, but their parents don't, and just like that Ryuuichi is a high schooler with a kid to raise. Kotarou is barely a toddler, too small to get why mom and dad aren't coming back. At the funeral, a woman in a sharp suit walks up to them. Youko Morinomiya runs an elite academy, and she takes the boys in. There's a catch, because of course there is. Ryuuichi gets a roof and a spot at the school, but he has to work for it: the academy's babysitter club is desperate for hands, so he's now watching the teachers' babies on top of everything else. And these kids are a lot. They cry, they bite, they bolt for the door the second he blinks. He's still grieving, still figuring out how to be a parent, and now there's a whole room of tiny tyrants who don't care about any of that. Morinomiya lost her own son in that same crash, though she never says it out loud. She just hands him a job and watches to see what he does with it. Can a teenager hold himself together long enough to keep everyone fed, calm, and alive?
