Magic stopped being folklore a long time ago. Now it's a technical discipline, the kind you study with textbooks and lab work, and the nine magic high schools in Japan are where the best get sorted out. First High divides everyone by entrance exam scores: Course 1 on top, Course 2 below them. The names the students use say it all. Blooms and Weeds. Miyuki Shiba lands in Course 1 as an honor student. Her brother Tatsuya tests into Course 2. That's the twist, because she knows exactly what he can do, and the labels on the doors don't match the person walking through them. So she sets out to prove it to the whole school, one demonstration at a time, while the Weeds around her take the disdain and give it right back. This is the same story you may know, told from Miyuki's side this time, with the girls carrying the camera. Her friends, her doubts, the small heartbreaks and the jealousy she never lets show on her face. What exactly is she protecting her brother from, and what happens when the school finally sees him clearly?
