A box of spell supplies shows up from Angelica, and tucked inside is a book. Chise knows it right away. She read it as a kid, back when she had nothing and no one, so she tells Elias the story: a strange library out in the woods, and Miura-san, the man who was kind to her there. Then the memories start to hurt. Before all that, her life was lonely and violent, no love, no care, no one in her corner. Hope had basically run out. And that is when the sorcerer with the beast skull walked into a slave market and bought her. He is a mage with terrifying power, and he saved her from those chains. He also said something wild: she would be his student and his bride. Elias listens to her story about the library, but he is not just listening. What is he really after in the book she loved as a child?
