Three men in crisp uniforms storm a back-alley diner somewhere far from Tokyo, flip over a plate of fusion rolls, and shut the place down before the owner can finish apologizing. Meet the ninth unit of the Sushi Police: Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki, a task force funded by the World Food-Culture Conservation Organization, flying around the globe day and night to hunt down anyone who dares serve sushi that strays from tradition. A squeeze of the wrong sauce is enough. They kick in doors, they interrogate chefs, they never doubt themselves for a second. Then a TV reporter named Sara walks into one of their raids. Young, sharp, camera-ready, and she is not there to praise them. She wants to expose the unit and the organization behind it as corrupt, and when the three of them try to sweat her for answers, she slips out of their hands with nothing more than a smile and a good line. Just like that, the hunters are the ones being hunted. What starts as a cleanup job turns into something much messier, because the real reason the Sushi Police exist is nothing like the story they have been telling themselves. So who exactly is paying for all those plane tickets, and what happens when the three of them finally find out?
