Kenji Fujikido had a wife, a kid, and a normal salaryman life in Neo-Saitama. Then a ninja turf war took all of it away. He should have died too. Instead something ancient crawled inside him at the last second, an old ninja soul that refused to stay buried, and now he walks around with a dead man sharing his skull. The ninja themselves were never supposed to come back. Thousands of years ago they ruled Japan with their bare hands, and when some of them chose a forbidden death ritual to preserve their souls at Kinkaku Temple, history got rewritten and the whole thing was swept under the rug. Fast forward to a future where cybernetics and networks are basically gods, and those same souls are rising again in the shadows of the city. Soukai Syndicate ninjas are out there, and Kenji is hunting every single one of them. He is not a hero. He is a grudge with legs, a man who kills ninja because killing ninja is the only thing left that means anything to him. But the soul inside him has its own history, its own reasons, and it does not always stay quiet. How much of Kenji is still Kenji, and how long before the thing he is hunting starts hunting him back?
