A decade after the Great War showed everyone what modern weapons can really do, nations stopped fighting in the open. Now they lie, steal and trade secrets instead. Lily wants in. She's eager, she's stubborn, and her grades are a disaster. Just as she starts to wonder if she's cut out for this at all, she gets an offer: skip the usual path and join a spy team called Lamplight. A man named Klaus shows up and drops the real job on them. One month of training, then straight into the Galgad Empire on a mission with a ninety percent chance of failure. Klaus is the only one left from an elite squad that no longer exists, and these seven are what he has to work with. Nobody in that room believes they can pull it off.
