Gen Kinokura goes camping to get away from people. Crowded trains, noise, all of it. He picks a quiet spot, sets up his tent, and finally breathes. Then he looks up. A girl named Shizuku Kusano is standing there with a cheap tent and no clue what she is doing. He tells her to leave. She does not. Her gear is a mess, her food situation is worse, and Gen cannot just watch her shiver through the night, so he steps in. He figures that is the end of it. Give the rookie some pointers, pack up, move on. Except Shizuku shows up again. And again. She wants to learn, and Gen keeps letting her tag along, even though the whole point was to be alone. So they write down rules: who brings what, when they split up, how to share a campsite without sharing everything. It works, mostly. But something about the arrangement is starting to feel less like a compromise and more like a habit. What happens when one of them stops wanting to camp solo at all?
