Melida Angel has spent thirteen years waiting for magic that never showed up. Inside the glass domes of Flandore, everyone knows the deal: noble blood means mana, mana means you can fight the lycanthropes prowling the dark outside. No mana means you are nothing. Her classmates at the elite academy never let her forget it. So her family hires a tutor. Kufa Vampir, calm, sharp, young enough to blend in at the academy. He trains her, watches her, tests her. What Melida does not know is the fine print of his contract: if she truly has no power, he is supposed to kill her. And after weeks of watching, he decides she does not. Then he sees her fight. Bruised, outmatched, refusing to stay down, and something in him flips. Instead of finishing the job, Kufa shows her a way to reach the mana she was told she would never have. Now he is lying to the Angel family, lying to his own guild, and every lesson they share is one more thing he has to hide. How long can you keep a secret when the people you are hiding it from taught you every trick you know?
