Ojiisan no Lamp

Drama2011Telecom Animation FilmRating 7,50+HD

A boy pokes around his grandfather's shed and pulls out a dusty old lamp. To him it is just a toy, something to wave around in the yard. His grandfather catches him and snatches it back, then sits the kid down and starts talking about a time before electric light. Back when the old man was young, he ran errands for the neighbors in a quiet town. One job sent him to a bigger town nearby, and there he saw it: streets glowing with lamps, a kind of light he had never laid eyes on. That one look stuck with him. He spent years chasing it, learning how the things worked, until lamps were not just a fascination but his whole trade, and the town around him started to change shape. So the boy holds a piece of all that without even knowing it. What does he do once he understands what is really sitting in his hands?
