Oblivion Battery

Tarou Yamada was named after a baseball manga hero, so he never really had a choice. He played since he was a kid, poured everything into it, and then Haruka Kiyomine and Kei Kaname ground that dream into dust. Those two were untouchable in middle school. Kiyomine threw rockets, Kaname called every pitch like he could read minds, and together they broke the spirit of every good player who dared to stand in the batter's box. Tarou was just one of the casualties. So he quits. Picks an ordinary public high school with no team, no expectations, nothing. First day of class, guess who is sitting right there. The same two guys. And Kaname? The calm, calculating General is gone. Amnesia wiped him clean. Now he is loud, crude, and treats baseball like it is a joke. He only picked Kotesashi because it was close to home. Kiyomine looks like he swallowed a lemon. Then Tarou starts meeting other players he used to look up to, guys who also walked away. They are rusty. They are reluctant. Kaname will not shut up. But if Tarou can drag them all back onto a field, maybe they can go further than any of them ever imagined. Can a bunch of broken dreams and one amnesiac clown actually make it to the national stage?
