Michiko Malandro has busted out of a maximum security prison four times now, and the heat of this South American country isn't about to stop her from doing it again. She's hunting a man. Somewhere in the dusty towns and crowded streets of Diamandra, Hiroshi is waiting, and Michiko will tear through anything to find him. What she finds instead is Hana, a kid getting beaten bloody by the foster family that's supposed to protect her. Hana dreams of a prince on a white horse. What she gets is a tall, loud convict on a stolen motorbike who grabs her and says she's her mother. The two of them hit the road, broke and hungry, dodging cops and worse. Child exploitation rings operate in broad daylight here. Betrayal waits around every corner. And Michiko's escape hasn't gone unnoticed. The criminal syndicate Monstro Preto catches wind of the manhunt, and suddenly this isn't just a chase. It's a war about to boil over. Two people with nothing in common, tied together by one man nobody can seem to find. So what happens when they finally catch up to Hiroshi, and he isn't anything like either of them imagined?
