Yuta thought he was just eating fish. That was five hundred years ago, and he hasn't aged a day since. Now he wanders Japan alone, hunting for mermaids, because one of them might know how to turn him back into an ordinary man. He finally tracks some down. What he walks into is worse than he expected: a girl kept in a hut, fattened up like livestock. The mermaids feed her the flesh of their rivals so they can eat her later and steal back their youth. Yuta kills them. He gets the girl out, but she has already tasted mermaid flesh herself. Her name is Mana. So now there are two of them. She had never seen anything of the world, and even a bowl of rice makes her light up. He gets someone to talk to after centuries of silence. Both of them want the same thing: to be normal again. They set off together looking for more mermaids. But what happens when the cure turns out to cost more than the curse?
