Yuuta and Mana have been alive too long. Centuries of watching everyone they meet grow old and die, all because they once ate mermaid flesh. Now they ride trains across Japan, two immortal travelers with no real destination, just the faint hope of finding a cure for what they are. Or at least a reason to keep going. Then they meet Masato. A small boy, alone on the train, scared of his own mother. Yuuta and Mana step in to help, the way they always do, and that is when things go wrong. They find Masato with his mother Misa, and what they see between the two of them makes no sense. She comes at her son with a pair of scissors. A mother attacking her child. When Yuuta and Mana start digging, the boy turns out to be nothing like the frightened kid they thought they were protecting. The mermaid's flesh has found its way into another life, and its curse is spreading. What secret are Masato and Misa hiding, and what will it cost Yuuta and Mana to find out?
