In Japan, the dead can wake up and walk around, and that has always been a small, manageable problem. Lately the numbers have jumped, and every single one of them is heading north to Hokkaido. A girl known only as the Exorcist gets sent to stop them. She can handle the perverted poet Takuboku Ishikawa without breaking a sweat. Then the Shinsengumi come back from the grave, and her confidence goes out the window. So she turns to the dead for help. Francesca, the strongest corpse anyone has ever revived, plus her dog Franken. The plan is simple: Francesca protects the living, Francesca does what she is told. Except nobody has actually seen her do anything. She is an undead idol with a reputation, and reputations are cheap. Now the Exorcist has a poet she cannot get rid of, a squad of undead swordsmen closing in, and a supposed savior who does not seem interested in saving anyone. Is Francesca really the monster everyone whispers about, or is the Exorcist about to find out she has been lied to?
