Tadashi Matsushita just transferred to Kansai Fifth Technical High, and the place eats new kids alive. First years get shoved, punched, treated like furniture. He takes it for a while. Then he decides he is done being everyone's punching bag and signs up for the school's karate club, the one everybody whispers about. That is where he runs into captain Yoshiyuki Takagi. The guy hits like a truck and half of Osaka crosses the street to avoid him. Terrifying reputation, terrifying face. But watch him a little longer and something else shows up: a guy with a real sense of right and wrong, and more kindness than anyone around him would guess. So now Tadashi is stuck between the beatings he ran from and the man he wants to become. Can he survive long enough in that club to find out what Takagi is really made of?
