Three years in an all-boys boarding school will do things to a guy's head. So when Takeru Ohyama hears about Solar High, a former girls' school that just went co-ed and doesn't even bother with entrance exams, he packs his bags before anyone can change their mind. Girls everywhere. No tests. Paradise, right? Wrong. Solar High trains battle mages, and every student carries a Maken, a weapon that unlocks their powers. Duels settle everything here. Takeru barely steps onto campus before a senior nearly kills him on the spot. A strange girl jumps in and saves his life, then calmly introduces herself as his fiancée. He stumbles to his dorm room, opens the door, and finds both of them already moved in. His almost-murderer. His surprise savior. Then Haruko, a girl he knows from karate club, decides she lives there too. Now he's crammed into a room with three girls who seem determined to turn him into a fighter, whether he likes it or not. Nobody at Solar High lasts long without a Maken of their own. So where exactly does a guy like Takeru find one that answers to him?
