Buntarou Hojo has no plans. No dreams either. He writes well, sure, but that talent just sits there while he kills time with friends, waiting for high school to end. Then Sayuki Kuroda, a classmate, corners him in the men's bathroom and asks him out. A date, he figures. Wrong. It's a job interview. She read a script he wrote for the drama club and now she wants him to help build a bishoujo game. He barely knows what that even means, but she keeps pushing: this project will work, she says, and she needs him on it. He says yes, mostly because there's no graceful way out. Now the two of them have to fill out a team, and every new recruit drags in a fresh problem. None of them have done this before. They're learning game design on the fly, fighting over story beats and deadlines, and figuring out what they actually want from the years ahead. The whole thing could fall apart at any moment. Will they manage to finish something worth playing, the kind of game Sayuki swears they can make?
