Tomoya Aki has spent years collecting anime and light novels, and now he wants to make a dating sim of his own. One problem: he can't draw, can't write, and can't do it alone. So he recruits Eriri, his childhood friend, to handle the art, and Utaha, the sharp-tongued class novelist, to write the script. He'll direct. All he needs now is a heroine. He finds her by accident. A hat blows down a long slope, he chases it on his bike, and the girl who owns it leaves him stunned. A month later, when he's asked to show a new transfer student around school, it's the same girl: Megumi Kato. Beautiful, quiet, and almost impossible to notice. Tomoya decides to mold her into the perfect heroine, the kind every player in Japan would fall for. That's the plan, anyway. Assembling a team of stubborn specialists is one thing. Getting Megumi to actually stand out is another. And somewhere along the way, the game's creators might have to feel everything their characters feel. Can a guy who's only ever watched love stories from the outside write one that rings true?
