Haruka Nanase finally made it to Sydney, the city he once visited as a kid and never stopped thinking about. Before he even leaves Japan, though, a short break turns into a run-in with a rival from the All-Japan Invitational, and that one encounter sets something moving inside him. He boards the plane carrying everyone he has ever swum with, their feelings packed in right next to his own. Then comes the part nobody was ready for. Waiting on the other side of the world is Albert Volandel, the reigning champion, and he is not there to be friendly. Every swimmer in Sydney is chasing the same thing, but they are all doing it for different reasons: some for a country, some for a coach, some just to prove the water still listens to them. Haru wants the top of the world. To get there, he may have to give up the one thing he has never questioned: swimming beside the people he loves. So what does he choose when the dream and the friends pull in opposite directions?
