Rebecca is packing her bags in Japan, ready to head back to Pastillage. Cinque and Nanami are on their way from England, set to land in Biscotti and Galette like always. Then lightning hits the summoning circle. Just like that, the two of them crash down in the wrong place entirely: the Dragon Forest, with none of their gear and no idea where they are. Sharu, the priestess who watches over the forest, fills them in. Demons are coming. Not for sport this time, not for the friendly war games the three nations play, but for the whole continent of Flonyard. And before the three heroes can even regroup, the forest itself turns hostile. Meat eating plants. Beasts that look like dinosaurs and pterodactyls. A swim in the river they do not choose to take. Cinque and Nanami still have to find their missing things, and Rebecca has no clue what is waiting for her on the other side. The war games were never supposed to be real. Can three kids, scattered across a continent and stripped of everything they brought with them, stop an invasion that has already begun?
