Two men wake up somewhere called Quindecim with no memory of getting there. A young woman walks them to a tiny bar and a bartender lays out the deal: a roulette picks your game, you play it to the end, and you do not walk out. Refuse and things get ugly. The wheel stops on billiards, and the bartender adds the part that matters. Play like your life depends on it. One guy is young, still buzzing with plans, desperate to get back to his girl and his loud nights out. The other is an old man who is in no hurry at all: a drink, a hot meal, his wife, his quiet remaining years. They do not know each other. They do not know the stakes are real until the cue ball starts rolling. So they chalk up and take their shots, and every pocketed ball drags something heavier behind it. The old man savors what he has left. The kid claws for more time. Only one way out of this room, and the table decides who takes it. Who walks out of Quindecim, and who was never leaving?
