Miko Kurono streams to maybe a dozen people at a time. Small channel, small chat, no big sponsors. For three months she has been paying the hospital bills of her friend Mayu, a far more popular streamer who dropped into a coma along with several others and never woke up. So when a top-secret VR beta test offers real money, Miko signs up. She clears the first level without much trouble. Then the Old Ones show up: ancient gods who came back to take the planet and are currently stuck inside the game. One of them, Cthulhu, walks around wearing Mayu's face, and he is the reason she is lying in that bed. Now Miko is trapped in a survival game called the Cosmic Horror Show, teamed up with Kanna Kagurazaka, a rival she never got along with. If every player gets eliminated, humanity is finished. If someone wins, they get one wish. Miko knows exactly what she would ask for. But the gods keep changing the rules, the other players are cracking one by one, and every round pushes her closer to a point she may not be able to walk back from. Can a nobody streamer outplay the gods without losing her mind first?
