One second Taku Shimamura is a regular high school kid. The next he is flat on his back in Slaffleaze, a world where talking animals run the show and humans are the odd ones out. Weird place. Also dangerous, because the guy in charge, Zolba, has already picked his next target: Earth. Your Earth. He is building a door between the two worlds and nothing on the other side is ready for what comes through. So Taku falls in with the peasants Zolba has been stepping on for years. They need a miracle, or at least a leader. What they get is a teenager with no plan and one shot at help: the last Yappie, the ancient guardian of Slaffleaze. Sounds simple until you meet her. She is a girl, she is a dragon, and she decides for herself who deserves her trust. Winning her over takes nerve Taku is not sure he has. Zolba's forces are already moving, and the portal will not wait for anyone to grow up first. Can a kid from Earth convince a dragon to fight for the world that is not even hers?
